Purpose: Students will understand the definition of an art spoof and recognize this in current popular media. Through this project, students will also research and develop a memory bank of recognizable famous artwork. Within this understanding, they will create an original art spoof using themselves as a model or incorporating an element of humor into a recognizable famous piece of art.
Spoof: an imitation, a satire, to mock or poke fun. Due to the commonality of this project, it is best to check that you have not plagiarized someone else's work. Please see examples below of famous art spoofs.

Directions: 1. Conduct some research on various recognizable pieces of art. Look online for artspoofs completed already in case you copy an idea. No go on that! 2. Choose three images and begin to think of ideas. 3. If it involves people (one or more) you need to find a way to use yourself. You can also use your friends as models for the other members in the image. 4. Place three art spoofs on wiki and write a reflection about the process, challenges, and successes.
